Credit comparison: American psycho, Scream & Mimic

American PsychoSound:
To begin with there are only sharp quick notes the moments the red droplets fall down past the typography, then the noises get more frequent as the drops increase. This builds tension as these short notes being made by stringed instruments become more and more frequent. However it then moves into a rather elegant song showing the other side of the 'american psycho' and the fact that he hides himself behind perfection.
Typography: The typography in this is very plain and bold and in black font, it is also all in uppercase letters.  This shows the simplicity and the minimalism personality of the main character. The black font suggests evil and something being not quite right and the fact that 'psycho' is bolder than american tells you that it's not the american part of the man who created this character but the fact that he is a psycho.
Mise En Scene: There is a lot of red throughout the credits connoting death and blood. But the fact that it is actually a meal being created tells us that these deaths are hidden and no one knows about them. The white background suggests blankness and purity which is being tainted by the red.

Scream (1)Sound:
More than one woman screaming (chorus of female screams perhaps telling us the main victims or using women as the weaker), phone ringing, a sense of urgency to stop something. Knife slashing linking in with the death weapon perhaps and connoting death. (following conventions of a horror)
Typography:
Bold writing in block capitals turns from white (pure) to red which connotes death and blood, linking to this as it is a slasher film. Following usual conventions of colour in horror films, red, black and white. White and black linking in with the killer's outfit and mask and red linking in with the blood and death.
Editing:
The red around the typography which flashes (similar to the flashing of an ambulance or police car) then turns into red completely as the text distorts. Also we zoom into the text making the whole screen go red.

MimicSound:
Flutter of wings linking to the butterflies/moths shown on screen. Opera singing creating a creepy effect, sound of a door screeching open giving the idea that there is something to do with a prison or an abandoned place that no one goes to. Discordant music in the background creating a sense of unease in the audience. Sounds of children chanting and dramatic music (climaxes) at a certain point, slight jump factor. Man speaking over a radio, sounds of an aeroplane.
Typography:
Clips from newspapers, white typography which is simplistic like the one on a type writer, linking back to the past. (Also on film which links back to the past as well) Typography is small and takes up a small amount of the screen.
Editing:
Cutaways of different scenes and images put together creating a 'fact file' sense of going through documents and experiments. (Newspapers, images of moths, images of people etc) images of insects repeated throughout at the pace of the music along side images of children.
